Inta Balode

Inta Balode sometimes calls herself a contemporary dance politician. Through her experience as dance writer, curator, dramaturge and performer she sees contemporary dance as a great potential every society member could benefit from despite liking or disliking contemporary art as an aesthetic experience. Dance saved her life when after her mind got separated from body due to overthinking during writing BA and MA papers about death and emptiness.

Inta holds a MA degree in theory of culture, and since 2003 she has been studying dance in various workshops, projects and through her own practice. Inta’s work in the dance field has always been connected to caring about geographical, mental and emotional peripheries.
