Liga Ūbele

Liga Ūbele is a contemporary dance artist and scenographer from Riga, Latvia. She gained her Bachelor’s of Contemporary Dance Art in 2018 from Latvian Academy of Culture and her Master’s in Scenography in 2021 from Art Academy of Latvia.

Liga is an emerging artist who is still in the ongoing process of finding her practice, artistic language and working methods, but she's mainly interested in how dance and art can bring us closer to who we are in every given moment. She is looking how to connect human body, mind and heart through movement allowing us to experience our selves as whole and to be more open to space around us. She is experimenting in different fields of art by working as choreographer, performer, scenographer, and by collaborating with other artists to create interdisciplinary art works, like installation or audio performance.
