Réka Oberfrank

Réka Oberfrank is a freelance dancer, creator and teacher. She graduated as a contemporary dancer and contemporary dance teacher at the BA and MA courses of the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy. She completed her studies at The Danish National School of Performing Arts and at the Spanish CobosMika Seeds formation. She had collaborations with Hungarian artists such as OneTwoMany Collective, Tamara Vadas, Csaba Molnár, Viktor Szeri, Júlia Vavra and Adrienn Hód. She is a member of Willany Leó Improvisational Dance Theater since 2021 where she is included as manager in the team as well. She works as stage manager for the Cosmic Theater at O.Z.O.R.A. Festival during summertime. Her own dance pieces are visible mostly in MU Theatre, Budapest. Her latest piece called ’Miracle’ after two years of performing on different theater and festival stages got selected for dunaPart6, the hungarian platform for best contemporary works, where she got an invitation to Germany. In her practice she is constantly searching the inner game of the body, the playfulness in the joints, the muscles and their rhythmicality believing that the body itself is always something to discover. She is also very much interested in the history of the bodies, the imprint we made as well as what is coming from our parents and the generations before us.
