Tamaskó Helén

Tamaskó Helén’s artistic curiosity spans contemporary dance, performance and installation art. While working internationally as a freelance performer and maker since 2022, she is also engaged in the fields of dance theory and dance pedagogy through her studies. Helén is continuously searching the modes of being, relating and creating that align with her interests. Although she does not have a formulated practice, certain notions and questions are central in her works. Such as ~the body itself that is constantly performing and transforming [moving]; ~the materiality of the body and its interaction with other materials; ~duration and temporality; ~radical slowness. Her most recent collaborations have also widened her interest towards dark ecology and post-Anthropocenic discourses. Helén’s main inspiration remains the lively and precious arts scene of Budapest that she often re-discovers when seeking a sense of belonging.
